Capturing this sweet family from Texas was a fun way to spend the day in Watersound, Florida.
Their energy and smiles could brighten any day. With or without Florida sunshine!
Mac Powell Family of Third Day – Atlanta, Georgia Photographer
When photography is your occupation, sometimes you get the opportunity to work with other artists. When that opportunity arises, it’s always going to be a fun collaboration.
Typically, an artist has a cool “feel” and “vibe” already established. When you throw their incredibly cute (and gifted) family into the mix, it’s even more fun! The Powell family (Mac Powell) from the band Third Day was the perfect example.
Each of these precious children have their own personality and their own gifts. The best way to let that shine was to allow Shelli to work her magic with them with no distractions. Just plain open air and the freedom to play and be a family.
Check out their beautiful children and the cool vibe they individually exude.

Schnatmeier Family – Atlanta and Marietta Georgia Photographer
This little trio warms our heart.
Shelli has been photographing the Schnatmeier family for many years. Each year, Shelli collaborates with mom on location and clothing and each year they show up in the cutest outfits… well coordinated but not too matchy-matchy. We think they basically look like they stepped out of the pages of a magazine spread or lookbook.
Of course, their mom, Ali has a great eye. It is evident that her kiddos are taking after her great taste. Effortlessly cool and casually sophisticated, that’s how we’d describe this group.
To make matters even more significant, this family’s sweet, long-time family pet passed away not too long after our photoshoot. You can see just how much she was loved in the last pic. How wonderful it was to have this special moment captured with the kids and their beloved dog. Rest in peace sweet Dixie!
Alton Brown Pool House, Dana Poor Designer – Marietta, GA Photographer
When Interior Designer Dana Poor (pictured) approached Shelli Allen Photography about photographing one of her latest projects, Shelli happily agreed.
Recently Dana Poor of Boxtree Designs worked on the poolhouse for Food Network‘s very own chef and TV personality, Alton Brown.
This space offers everything you can think of for a relaxed gathering by the pool or a fun evening spent sharing food with friends. Boxtree Designs did a fabulous job combining splashes of color with comfortable neutrals. And, just like their client, Alton Brown, there are fun and quirky elements added to the design. Take a closer look and you’ll find little surprises like repurposed lockers for storage, whisks for lighting fixtures, a place for Alton to hang his hat and even a washer / dryer for convenience. It’s all in the details.
We think this space is not only fun, but functionally beautiful. Thank you Dana and Boxtree Designs for the opportunity to work together on such a fun project!
